Get To Know Nurse Barbara Bicomba

I am honored to be one of the recipients of the sponsorship offered by Meriwether Foundation. Thanks to Meriwether Foundation's generous support I am the first in my class and family to attend college. Growing up in a less privileged community has not only offered finaicial and academic challenges, but it has also helped me realize the value of a college education.

I came to know about Meriwether Foundation through my mother who works at Meriwether.

It was in 2013 in the month of June when U received an acceptance letter from Mwami School and Nursing to undergo a two year general nursing course. I went to see Nomvimbi Meriwether, President and Co-Founder of Meriwether Foundation. I talked to her and she told me there was no problem, she will help me. I literally sat in silence a good 20 minutes, I couldn't believe it. When I finally let myself believe it was true, I felt as if it was a sign from the universe telling me that I was finally headed in the right direction-that I would make it through.

All in all, Meriwether Foundation's act of kindness made an incredible difference in my life as well as my family's.
